Video of the Week: Kevin Streelman discusses God's peace in first PGA win

After an unfortunate start to the 2013 Tampa Bay Championship, PGA Tour golfer Kevin Streelman found himself at 2-over and in danger of getting cut after the second day of the tournament — but he began to climb back.

By the third round on Saturday, Streelman found himself near the top of the leaderboard — his first PGA Tour win was in sight. This sort of pressure may have proved too much for some athletes, but not Streelman. He didn’t make a bogey on the final 37 holes of the tournament — leading him to his first win on the PGA Tour, going 10-under over the four-day span.

“When I held that trophy and they interviewed me, I said, ‘I don’t think God allowed me to have one of these until I knew, in my life, the proper placement for it,'” said Streelman in the video featured above. “I knew it’s just another thing to put down at [God’s] feet when the time comes.”

Streelman will begin competing for his first Major win on Thursday at Oakmont Country Club, the site of the 2016 U.S. Open. He is set to tee off at 7:29 AM EDT on Thursday, alongside Gregory Bourdy of France and Hideto Tanihara of Japan.
