Most Impressive Performance:  Willis McGahee made a huge difference in the Broncos offense on Sunday, and that translated into a very impressive fantasy day as well.  He rushed for 163 yards and two touchdowns. If he stays healthy and keeps running like that, fantasy owners will be very satisfied.   Pleasant surprise: Julio Jones caught two monster touchdowns for the Falcons and bounced back from a hamstring injury with a strong performance for fantasy owners.   Disappointing surprise:  Fred Jackson has been great all year long, but against the Jets he wasn’t able to get into the end zone and only rushed for 82 yards...

We are beginning week 9 and I thought it would be fun to take a look back at the first 8 weeks in Fantasy Football. Most Impressive Player: Aaron Rodgers continues his dominant ways week after week.  I would guess that most people who have him as their starting quarterback are in first place (like me) or at the top of your league.  There are only a couple of other quarterbacks who even come close to the fantasy numbers he puts up. Pleasant surprise: Cam Newton has been incredible.  He clearly has the best value in all of fantasy because most owners drafted him really late or even picked him up off waivers.  He can score touchdowns on the ground or in the air, which allows more options for fantasy points.

Week 6 Recap: Most Impressive Performance:  Ahmad Bradshaw had three rushing touchdowns and over 100 yards rushing against Buffalo. The goal line carries usually go to Brandon Jacobs, but since he was out on Sunday, Bradshaw was the beneficiary, and so was your fantasy team if you own him. Pleasant surprise:  It’s amazing that anyone kicks or punts to Devin Hester. When the ball is in his hands, he’s one of the most dangerous players on the field. On Sunday night he had two touchdowns, one receiving and one returning, to go along with 91 receiving yards. I doubt many fantasy owners started him, but if you did you were rewarded big time...

Most Impressive Performance: Wes Welker had a monster day that will be tough to beat by anyone this year. His stat line was: 16 receptions for 217 yards and two touchdowns. He single handily won fantasy matchups for owners. Bandwagon Riding: Torrey Smith (WR) made a splash on Sunday for the Ravens. The rookie scored three touchdowns, and I think he will continue to be a deep threat all year long for Joe Flacco. He is a great compliment to Anquan Boldin. Bandwagon Jumping: Mike Tolbert is losing carries and potential impact in the Chargers offense. He looked really strong the first week, but now Ryan Matthews is the running back you want to own in San Diego.

The NFL season is just getting underway and with that comes fantasy football! Here are 10 quick fantasy football predictions from our own fantasy guru, Bryce Johnson... 1. Matt Ryan will be the sixth best fantasy quarterback this year. He has so many weapons to build on from last year’s success and the Falcons will put a bigger emphasis on the passing game this season, too. 2. Mark Ingram will live up to the hype this season and be the most productive rookie...
