ESPN Broadcaster After Being Laid Off: “At times like these it’s best to remember who is in control, who sits on the throne, and who watches over me.”

Wednesday was a very tough day for many ESPN employees who were told they no longer have jobs.

Included in the list of layoffs was ESPN college football analyst and co-host of the ESPN Radio afternoon show, Danny Kanell. Danny played college football at Florida State and in the NFL for seven seasons with the Giants, Broncos and Falcons before being hired by ESPN in 2010.

Kanell took to twitter to share the bad news.

Our character is often revealed in difficult times. For Danny Kanell, he displayed that character in pointing people back to the one who is truly in control.

Danny references Romans 8:28, which states — “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
