“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 2:14

Have No Fear

Every sport today is filled with young stars. The reigning NHL MVP, Connor McDavid, is all of 20 years old. Mike Trout has made five MLB All-Star teams and won two MVP awards by the age of 25. Anthony Davis, age 24, has twice been named to the All-NBA First Team. Odell Beckham Jr., also 24, is a three-time Pro Bowler and the fastest receiver to 3,500 yards in NFL history.

Entire franchises are being placed in the hands of players who were in college only a year or two ago.

These great young players do not let their lack of experience or any other potential negative of being new to the professional ranks hold them back.

When it comes to our faith, we can’t let any doubts we may have about whether we are ready or capable, hold us back either. We may think that we are too young, too scared, or any number of other reasons that make us feel like we can’t do something. Nothing could be further from the truth.

God created each and every one of us with a specific set of talents that we are called to use for His glory. Sometimes, that will result in us being taken out of our comfort zone, but that’s a good thing! What better way is there to grow in our faith and our relationship with God than to have to take a risk and trust Him?

Always remember that God gave you the gifts you have for a reason and don’t be afraid to use them!
