7-year-old Girl Asks For Autograph of Army Reservist at Red Sox Spring Training

As a kid, you dream of going to a baseball game, meeting your favorite player and maybe even getting an autograph.

Recently, 7-year-old Makenna Woodburn was in Ft Myers, Florida hoping to meet members of the Boston Red Sox. With baseball in hand, she was eager to try and retrieve a couple of autographs when she suddenly stepped out of the line and walked over to reservist Olyvia Russell and asked for her autograph. According to WINK news, Russell is in her first year with the Reserves, working as a 92 Alpha, a position that entails supervising and performing management or warehouse functions to maintain equipment records and parts.

“She said, ‘I’m not a player,’ and she asked if I still wanted her to sign it, and I said yes,” Makenna told WINK news. “Because she’s the hero instead of baseball players.”

Well done Makenna.

Today the kids were all super excited to get autographs of the players, makenna included… but then she saw a woman in…
